Google to invest Rs 75,000 crore in India

    Google announced to invest Rs 75000 crore (10 Billion Dollar approx) in India in coming 5 to 7 years. 
    Today Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai  announced at the virtual event of Google for India for India Digitization fund and said we will invest Rs 75000 crore in coming 5 to 7 years through a mix of eqity investments, partnership , infrastruture , operational and ecosystem investments. This is our confidence in the future of India and its digital indian economy. 

    These investments will be focus on four major areas important to India’s digitization that includes enabling affordable access and information for every Indian in their own language, whether it’s Hindi, Tamil, Punjabi or any other. The second is to build new products and services on the base of India’s unique needs. To Empower businesses as they  embark on their digital transformation and leveraging technology and AI for social goodness, in the areas like education, health, and agriculture are the other areas.

He also said “Of course, all this progress was only possible because of a strong foundation of digital connectivity. Thanks to Prime Minister Modi’s vision for Digital India, the country has made huge progress in getting a billion Indians online. Low-cost smartphones combined with affordable data, and a world-class telecom infrastructure, have paved the way for new opportunities,”


    

    He also told how the  Internet awareness in rural villages  of India through govt. programs like Internet Saathi has helped above 30 million women in India gain digital skills to improve their lives and their communities.
